Key takeaways
- Most cafe searches in Gurgaon happen on a phone, close to a meal, so the menu, hours, map and WhatsApp button must load first.
- Publish the menu as real HTML text with photos, not only a PDF or an image, and link that page from your Google Business Profile.
- Build one honest location page per outlet and a few area pages only for places you actually serve, such as Cyber City or Sector 29.
- Show your FSSAI licence or registration number in the footer and on order confirmations, and add CafeOrCoffeeShop structured data.

What should a cafe website in Gurgaon do first?
A cafe website in Gurgaon has one job above all: tell a hungry person on a phone, within a few seconds, what you serve, whether you are open right now and how to reach you. Everything else, from the story of your coffee beans to the live-music calendar, comes after that.
Gurgaon's cafe trade is shaped by its office districts. Inside DLF Cyber City, Cyber Hub, which opened in 2013, is described as a hub of food and beverages for the city, and the Rapid Metro has stations within Cyber City. The same line runs south through the newer sectors, with stops at Sector 42-43, Sector 53-54 and Sector 55-56. Away from the towers, people meet at the DLF Galleria Market, around Leisure Valley Park in Sector 29, and at performance venues such as Epicentre in Sector 44.
That gives a Gurgaon cafe several very different visitors, often on the same day:
- Office lunch crowd: short break, wants the menu, wait time and a quick way to order ahead.
- After-work groups: want seating, ambience photos and a table booking.
- Weekend families and friends: want parking or metro directions, dessert photos and opening hours.
- Delivery customers in nearby sectors: want to know whether you deliver to them and how to order directly.
How should you put your menu online?
Put the full menu on a normal web page as text, grouped into sections, with a photo for your best-selling items. A PDF or a photographed menu card can sit alongside it as a download, but it should not be the only version.
Text menus are easier to read on small screens, load faster, can be updated by your staff in minutes, and can be read by search engines and screen readers. A blurry photo of a laminated card does none of that.
| Menu format | On a phone | For search and updates |
|---|---|---|
| Photo of the printed card | Needs pinch-zoom; hard to read in sunlight | Text is locked inside the image; every change means a new photo |
| PDF download | Opens a separate viewer; slow on weak data | Easy to forget to update; often out of date |
| HTML menu page with photos | Scrolls naturally; tap a section to jump | Each dish is readable text; staff edit one item at a time |
- Group items the way people order: coffee, cold drinks, breakfast, all-day food, desserts.
- Mark vegetarian, vegan, eggless and Jain-friendly options clearly, and list common allergens if you know them.
- Use real photos of your own food, compressed for mobile, with short descriptive alt text.
- Show an "updated on" date so regulars trust that what they see is current.
Which pages does a Gurgaon cafe website need?
A small cafe needs six to eight pages, each answering one question a customer actually asks. More pages only help when they carry real, local, useful information.
| Page | What it answers | Must include |
|---|---|---|
| Home | Is this my kind of place? | Photos, opening hours, one-tap call, WhatsApp and directions |
| Menu | What can I eat and drink? | HTML menu by section, photos, dietary marks |
| Order and reserve | Can I order ahead or book a table? | WhatsApp order button, booking form, delivery area |
| Events and live music | What is on this week? | Dated event cards, timings, how to book |
| Location | How do I get there? | Embedded Google Map, landmarks, metro and parking notes |
| About | Who runs this place? | Your story, team photos, FSSAI number |
| Area pages | Do you serve my office or sector? | Delivery and pickup details for that area only |
The events page deserves care. List each open-mic night, acoustic set or quiz with its date and time, and remove or archive it once it has passed. A page full of last year's gigs tells visitors the place may have closed.
If you host corporate breakfasts or team lunches for offices in Cyber City or Udyog Vihar, add a short "group orders" section with a WhatsApp link. Office admins look for exactly that.
How do you target "cafe near me" searches across Gurgaon?
"Near me" results depend mostly on your Google Business Profile, your real address and how well your website confirms both. You cannot appear "near" everyone in Gurgaon, so focus on the areas around your outlet and the sectors you genuinely deliver to.
- Create one location page per outlet, with the full address, an embedded map, hours and nearby landmarks such as a metro station or market.
- Write area pages only where you have a real offer: for example, a Cyber City page for office pickup, or a Sector 29 page if you sit near Leisure Valley.
- Mention the routes people really use to reach you, such as the nearest Rapid Metro station, MG Road or your sector road.
- Keep your name, address and phone number identical on the website, Google and any listing sites.
- Add short Hindi lines where your customers use Hindi, for example on the order page, without making the whole site bilingual if you cannot maintain it.
Avoid creating dozens of near-identical pages that swap sector names. They add little for visitors, and thin, duplicated pages tend to be seen as low value by search engines too. Our guide to local SEO for Gurgaon businesses explains how to build local pages that hold up, and our website development team in Gurgaon builds them into the site from the start.
How should your Google Business Profile and website work together?
Your Business Profile is often the first thing people see, and your website should confirm and extend it. Keep the two consistent and link them both ways.
- Menu: Google's menu editor lets food and drink businesses add sections, items and descriptions, and has a menu link field. Point that link to your HTML menu page.
- Hours: Google's guidelines ask for regular customer-facing hours and special hours for holidays or events. Update both before Diwali, New Year's Eve and long weekends.
- Name: the same guidelines say your name should match your real-world signage. Do not stuff "best cafe Gurgaon" into it.
- Photos: add interior, exterior and dish photos regularly, and use the same set on your website.

WhatsApp orders, table bookings or delivery apps?
Most Gurgaon cafes use a mix: delivery apps for discovery and long-distance delivery, and direct WhatsApp or website orders for regulars and nearby offices. Each has a place, and your website should make the direct route easy.
| Channel | Strengths | Trade-offs |
|---|---|---|
| Food-delivery apps | Large audience, delivery riders, built-in payments | Commission on orders; the app owns most customer contact |
| WhatsApp order button | Direct contact, repeat orders, easy for office groups | You manage payment, delivery and replies yourself |
| Website booking form | Captures date, time and group size in one message | Someone must confirm each booking quickly |
| Phone call | Fast for older customers and large groups | Details can be missed; nothing in writing |
A good WhatsApp button opens a pre-filled message such as "Order for pickup at 1:15 pm" so the customer only adds the items. For bookings, ask for name, phone, date, time and number of guests, and send a confirmation back.
Where should your FSSAI number and structured data go?
Show your 14-digit FSSAI licence or registration number in the website footer and on every bill or order confirmation, and describe the cafe to search engines with CafeOrCoffeeShop structured data. This is not legal advice; check current FSSAI rules for your category.
- FSSAI's licensing regulations require a true copy of the licence to be displayed at a prominent place in the premises.
- An FSSAI order of 19 September 2018 asked restaurants to display a Food Safety Display Board that includes the licence number.
- FSSAI's FAQs say the 14-digit number must be declared on cash receipts, invoices and bills by all food businesses, so build it into your online order confirmations too.
For structured data, CafeOrCoffeeShop is a schema.org type under FoodEstablishment, with properties such as hasMenu, servesCuisine, acceptsReservations and openingHours. Google's local business guidance requires name and address, recommends menu and servesCuisine for food establishments, and asks you to use the most specific type possible. Keep the markup matching what visitors see on the page.

Frequently Asked Questions
What pages does a cafe website in Gurgaon need?
Most cafes need a home page, an HTML menu page, an order and reservation page, an events page, a location page with a Google Map, and an About page showing your FSSAI number. Add area pages only for places you genuinely serve, such as office pickup in Cyber City or delivery to nearby sectors, so every page carries useful local detail.
Is a PDF menu enough for my cafe website?
A PDF can be offered as a download, but it should not be your only menu. A menu written as normal web text reads better on phones, loads faster, is easier for staff to update and can be read by search engines. Link that HTML menu page from your Google Business Profile's menu link field as well.
How can my cafe show up for cafe near me in Gurgaon?
Keep your Google Business Profile accurate, with the real address, hours, menu and photos, and make your website confirm the same details on a location page with an embedded map. Mention nearby landmarks and routes truthfully. Nobody can guarantee a top position, but consistent, complete information gives Google clear signals about where you are.
Should my cafe take orders on WhatsApp or only through delivery apps?
Many cafes use both. Delivery apps bring new customers and handle riders, while a WhatsApp order button lets regulars and nearby offices order directly and keeps you in contact with them. If you take direct orders, plan how you will confirm, collect payment and deliver before you add the button.
Where should I show my FSSAI licence number online?
Put the 14-digit number in the website footer or About page, and include it on every online order confirmation or bill, since FSSAI requires it on receipts and invoices. Also display the licence and Food Safety Display Board at your premises. Rules differ by category, so check FSSAI's current guidance; this is not legal advice.
