Key takeaways

  • Buyers shortlist studios by proof, so fill the portfolio with your own finished cars, short process clips and project details such as coverage and days in the studio.
  • Name the factors behind every quote on each package page and ask for photos or an inspection before you give a figure.
  • Publish your written warranty terms exactly as you issue them, with a clear claim process and care steps your team really gives.
  • Section 52 of the Motor Vehicles Act and the Supreme Court's January 2019 ruling restrict alterations to registered specifications, so describe only legal work and add a legal-work note.
  • Keep Business Profile photos real and recent, and ask every customer for a review without any incentive.

How do Gurgaon car owners compare detailing and modification studios?

Most owners shortlist two or three studios, then compare them on visible proof, a clear account of the work and how quickly someone answers a quote question. A protection or wrap job can keep a car off the road for days, so very few people book from a single advert.

The searches are narrow: "PPF Gurgaon" from Golf Course Extension Road, "car wrap studio near me" near Sohna Road, "ceramic coating near me" from a new-car buyer. Each should land on a page about that one service, not on a home page that lists everything.

What the buyer checksWhat your site should give them
Has this studio worked on a car like mine?Finished projects you can filter by body type and service
What will actually happen to my car?A step-by-step process with photos or clips from your own bays
Why do quotes differ between studios?A plain list of the factors you price on
What if something goes wrong later?Your written warranty terms and how to claim
Is this work allowed on the road?A short note that you accept only legal, RTO-compliant jobs

Our car detailing and modification website design service turns these checks into a page plan.

What makes a studio portfolio believable?

A portfolio is believable when every image comes from your own bays and each project answers the questions a buyer would ask in person. Pictures supplied by a film or coating maker show the product, not your installer's hands.

  • Project card: body type, service, panels or areas covered, finish and the number of days the car stayed.
  • Process clips: decontamination, a polisher on a panel, film being trimmed around a headlamp or a seat being restitched, filmed on a phone in steady light.
  • Materials in plain words: describe film as gloss or matte and coatings by layers and finish, and leave out a maker's name unless you have written permission to use it.
  • Consent: ask the owner before posting, and blur number plates and faces.

Include close-ups of edges, corners and seams, where buyers judge installation quality, and never retouch the finish itself.

How should a package page explain what changes the quote?

Show what each package covers, name the factors that move the quote up or down, and ask for photos or an inspection before you give a figure. That keeps prices off the website without leaving buyers guessing.

ServiceFactors to name on the pageA question to ask the customer
Ceramic coatingPaint condition, depth of correction, number of layers, extras such as wheels and glassIs the car new, or has it been machine-polished before?
Paint protection filmCoverage from bonnet and bumper up to full body, gloss or matte, complex panelsWhich areas get chipped most on your daily drive?
WrapsFinish, panels covered, door shuts and inner edges, removing an old wrapDo you want door shuts done, or outer panels only?
InteriorsSeat and trim material, stains or odour, parts to removeDo pets, child seats or smoking affect the cabin?
Audio and wheelsParts chosen, wiring or fitting work, what is fitted nowWhat do you want to keep from the current setup?

Add a short "not part of this job" note to each package, such as dent repair or headlamp restoration, so the final figure never feels like a surprise.

What should an inspection booking ask for?

An inspection request should collect just enough to plan the visit: the car, the service, its condition and a preferred day. A few fields that open a WhatsApp chat beat a long form.

  1. Car model and body type, chosen from a short list rather than typed.
  2. Service of interest, with a "not sure yet" option for buyers who want advice.
  3. Current condition: swirl marks, stone chips, an old film or wrap, or cabin stains.
  4. A preferred day and time to bring the car, or a request for a call first.
  5. A prompt to send three or four daylight photos in the chat.

After the inspection, send a written summary of what you found and what you propose, so a buyer who returns weeks later can pick up where you left off.

Say how long an inspection takes and whether customers can wait at the studio. People driving in from the Dwarka Expressway sectors or Manesar plan their day around it.

How should care and warranty pages be written?

Publish only the warranty terms your studio gives in writing, word for word, and limit care advice to steps your own team actually hands customers. If a product carries a separate maker's warranty, say who issues it and how it is registered instead of folding it into your own promise.

  • What is covered: for example peeling, lifting or bubbling of film, in your own words.
  • What can void it: pressure washing close to edges, harsh chemicals, accident repairs elsewhere, or whatever your terms actually list.
  • How to claim: who to contact, which photos to send and whether the car must come back to the studio.
  • Care after the job: the first wash, any waiting period and products to avoid, copied from your written instructions.

Link this page in the handover message so customers can find it again months later.

What does the law allow, and what should a modification website say?

A studio website should describe only work that keeps a car within its registered particulars, and should say so plainly. What follows is a general summary, not legal advice; check specific jobs with the RTO or a lawyer.

Section 52(1) of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, as amended in 2000, says no owner shall alter a vehicle so that the particulars in its certificate of registration are at variance with those originally specified by the manufacturer. Its Explanation defines "alteration" as a change in the structure of a vehicle which results in a change in its basic feature. Fuel conversion kits are allowed under prescribed conditions, and the Central Government may grant exemptions for specific purposes.

On 9 January 2019, in Regional Transport Officer v. K. Jayachandra, the Supreme Court held that no vehicle can be altered so as to change the original specification made by the manufacturer, and that the rules cannot permit what Section 52(1) prohibits, as reported by LiveLaw and SCC Online. The Court noted that other particulars in a registration certificate can still be changed and recorded. Section 52(3) also asks owners to report an alteration to the registering authority within fourteen days so the record can be updated.

Work studios commonly describeWork to keep off your website
Washing, polishing, paint correction and ceramic coatingChanges to the body structure, chassis or dimensions
Clear protection film over factory paintA colour change presented as needing no RTO step
Interior cleaning, upholstery repair and trim careExhaust work that makes a car louder
Wheel and audio fitment within the registered specificationsEngine, suspension or lighting changes that alter registered specifications

Colour-change wraps need extra care. The sale certificate form reproduced in the judgment lists body colour among the vehicle's details, so ask customers to check with their RTO before a colour change. Put a short legal-work note on your studio page and in the footer.

Which Google Business Profile photos and videos help a studio?

Upload real, recent photos of your bays, your team at work and finished cars, plus short clips, and keep adding them as jobs are delivered. Google's photo and video help page asks for JPG or PNG files between 10 KB and 5 MB, recommends 720 by 720 pixels, and wants images in focus, well lit and free of heavy filters. Videos can run up to 30 seconds.

  • An exterior shot showing your signboard and entrance, so first-time visitors find the right gate.
  • Work in progress: film being trimmed, a polisher on a panel, stitching on a seat.
  • Finished cars in daylight outside the studio, with plates hidden.

Reviews follow the same honesty rule. Google's Maps content policy bars offering payment, discounts or free services for reviews, and bars asking only happy customers. Send one review link to every customer at handover; for more, see our guide to Business Profile optimisation in Gurgaon.

Should accessories be sold on the same website?

Start with a catalogue where each part has photos, fitment notes and an enquiry button, and move to a full online store only when orders justify it. Fitted parts usually need a conversation about the car first.

  • List only parts that keep the car legal once fitted, and say which body types each part suits.
  • When you add checkout, plan for UPI, cards, cash on delivery, GST invoices and stock tracking, which our e-commerce development in Gurgaon covers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a detailing studio website build trust without stock photos?

Yes, and it usually builds more. Photograph each car your team finishes from the same angles in daylight, add a short clip of the process, and note the body type, coverage and days in the studio. Buyers compare these details between studios. Images from product makers look polished, but they do not show your installers' work, and visitors can spot them on other studio websites.

How do I explain why my PPF quote differs from another studio's?

List the factors you price on, such as coverage, finish, complex panels and how much paint preparation the car needs, and explain what is excluded. Then ask for photos or an inspection before quoting. When buyers understand that two quotes may cover different panels or preparation, they compare like with like and arrive with sharper questions.

Is a colour-change wrap allowed in Gurgaon?

It depends on the job and the registration record. Section 52 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 bars alterations that put registration particulars at variance with the manufacturer's original specifications, and body colour is recorded among a vehicle's details. Ask customers to check with their RTO before a colour change and say so on your wrap page. This is general information, not legal advice.

What should a studio warranty page include?

Copy your written terms exactly: what is covered, how long cover lasts, what can void it and how to raise a claim. Separate your own workmanship promise from any maker's product warranty and say who issues each. Add the care steps your team gives at handover, and ask customers to keep the job date and job card number for any claim.

Can I offer a discount to customers who leave a Google review?

No. Google's Maps user-generated content policy bars merchants from offering payment, discounts or free services in exchange for reviews, and from selectively asking only happy customers. You may ask every customer to share a genuine experience. A simple way is to send the same review link to everyone at handover, with no reward attached.

Do ceramic coating and PPF need separate pages?

Yes. They are different jobs with different preparation, coverage choices, time in the studio and care steps, and buyers search for each by name. Separate pages let each answer its own questions and match its own searches. Link them to each other, because many owners weigh coating against film, or ask about combining both on one car.
