Key takeaways

  • Give each condition its own plain-language page that explains assessment and treatment, and never promises a cure or a recovery date.
  • Publish a home-visit page only if you offer home visits, and list the areas and days you really cover.
  • Show each therapist's actual degrees, such as BPT or MPT, and registration details only where they are held and current.
  • Keep booking forms and WhatsApp chats short, collect health details in person, and ask every patient for reviews the same way, without rewards.

What should a physiotherapy clinic website include?

A physiotherapy clinic website should explain the conditions you work with, show who will treat the patient, make booking a session quick, and say clearly whether you offer home visits. A patient choosing a physio in Gurgaon, Rohtak or Hisar is choosing someone they may see every week for a while, so they want to know what the first assessment involves, how long a session lasts and who they will see each time. That is the brief for good physiotherapy clinic website design.

Many patients come with a referral from an orthopaedic surgeon, neurologist or paediatrician, and many find you on Google Maps. The site has to serve both: plain explanations for the patient, and clear qualifications and contact details for the referring doctor's staff.

PagePurposePlanning note
HomeConditions, timings, call and WhatsApp buttonsAddress and map near the top on mobile
First assessmentWhat happens, how long it takes, what to bringOld reports, scans, discharge summary, loose clothing
Condition pagesOne page each for back pain, knee, sports injury, post-surgery, neuro and paediatric carePlain language, no cure claims
Home-visit physiotherapyAreas, days and what the therapist bringsOnly if you really offer it
TherapistsNames, degrees, registration, special interests, languagesOnly what each person actually holds
Exercise videosGeneral exercises shared after assessmentConsent, safety note, no outcome promises
ContactMap, directions, parking, lift or ramp accessAccess matters to rehab patients
Privacy noticeWhat you collect, why, and who to contactLinked from every form

How should condition pages be written without promising a cure?

Describe the condition in plain words, explain how the physiotherapist assesses it and what treatment usually involves, and say honestly that progress varies from person to person. Leave out any phrase that promises an outcome: "cure", "permanent relief", "assured recovery" or "pain-free in five sessions".

Condition pageWhat to explainWording to avoid
Back and neck painPosture and movement assessment, exercise and manual therapy, desk and lifting advice"Slip disc cured without surgery"
Knee pain and knee replacement rehabStrength and range-of-motion work, walking aids, home exercises"Never need surgery"
Sports injuryStages of return to play, load management, when to see a doctor"Back on the field in a week"
Post-surgery rehabFollowing the surgeon's protocol, session frequency, milestones set by the treating teamFixed recovery dates
Neuro rehab (stroke, Parkinson's, spinal injury)Goals for balance, walking and daily tasks, the family's role"Full recovery", "reverse paralysis"
Paediatric physiotherapyPlay-based sessions, the parent's role, working with the child's doctorDevelopmental promises or comparisons

Physiotherapists are outside the NMC's ethics regulations for doctors, but misleading health claims are still risky: the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 lets the Central Consumer Protection Authority act against misleading advertisements. If an orthopaedic surgeon or rehabilitation physician also practises at your clinic, their own professional rules apply to the pages that name them. This is a planning note, not legal advice.

Put the reviewing physiotherapist's name and a "last reviewed" date at the foot of each condition page. Patients and referring doctors can see who stands behind the advice.

How do you plan home-visit physiotherapy service area pages?

Create a home-visit page only if you offer the service, and list the areas you actually travel to, the days you visit and what the family needs to arrange. One honest page is more useful than twenty copies with a different sector name swapped in.

Home visits often suit patients just home after a joint replacement, stroke patients and older people who find travel hard. In Gurgaon the list may be sectors and societies; in Rohtak, Jhajjar or Rewari it may be colonies and nearby villages. Give an area its own page only when you can say something specific about it, such as the days a therapist covers it or how far ahead to book.

  • Areas covered: by sector, colony or village, with a "call to check" line for anywhere else.
  • Visit days and time windows: and how much notice you need.
  • What the therapist brings: and what the family should arrange, such as floor space, a firm chair and the discharge summary.
  • Who should be present: a family member for children and older patients.
  • Google Business Profile: add a service area for home visits while keeping the clinic address visible, because patients also come to the clinic.

How should WhatsApp booking and forms handle health data?

Let patients book with a short form or a WhatsApp message that asks only for name, phone, the problem in a few words and a preferred time, and take the detailed history in person at the first assessment. The less health information travels through chats and inboxes, the less there is to protect.

Health details are personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the DPDP Rules, 2025 were notified on 14 November 2025 with phased timelines (PIB). Our DPDP checklist for clinic websites covers notices, retention and vendors in more detail.

  1. Add a WhatsApp button with a prefilled message such as "I would like to book a physiotherapy assessment".
  2. Reply from the clinic's WhatsApp Business number, not a therapist's personal phone.
  3. Ask patients to bring scans and reports to the first visit rather than sending them by chat.
  4. Keep reminders to date, time and place, with no mention of the condition.
  5. Track follow-up sessions in one register so a missed session is noticed and the patient gets a call.
  6. Delete enquiries that never became bookings after a fixed period.

Can a physio clinic publish an exercise video library?

Yes, if the videos are general, safe, filmed with consent, and framed as exercises to do after a physiotherapist has assessed you. A video library helps patients repeat home exercises correctly, but it must not read as a substitute for assessment or a promise of results.

  • Film a therapist or a consenting staff member rather than patients. If a patient appears, take written consent for that specific use and remove the video if consent is withdrawn.
  • Check the background for other patients' faces, files or screens.
  • No before-and-after clips, "walking again in a month" stories or recovery timelines. Another patient may not get the same result.
  • Add a safety line to every video: stop if pain increases, and follow your own physiotherapist's advice.
  • Share patient-specific programmes through private or unlisted links, not the public library.
  • Add captions or a Hindi version for older patients; a short transcript also helps search engines understand the page.
  • Embed from a video platform instead of uploading large files, so pages stay fast on mobile data.

How should therapist qualifications be shown honestly?

List each therapist's actual degrees, such as BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) or MPT (Master of Physiotherapy) with its specialisation, the institution, and registration details where they are held. Never upgrade a title or imply a medical degree.

Regulation is in transition. The National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions Act, 2021 covers physiotherapy and provides for State Allied and Healthcare Councils. In Haryana, a bill published in the Haryana Government Gazette on 27 August 2026 proposes repealing the Haryana State Council for Physiotherapy Act, 2020, states that the Haryana State Allied and Healthcare Council has been constituted, and keeps existing registrations valid (Bill No. 21 of 2026). Check with your council which register and number to show, and update the page if the position changes.

The "Dr" prefix is also disputed. A DGHS letter of 9 September 2025 saying physiotherapists should not use it was withdrawn the next day for further examination (Medical Dialogues). Until it is settled, the safest format is the name followed by degrees, with "Physiotherapist" as the role.

  • One profile per therapist: degrees, institution, special interests, languages spoken and days at the clinic.
  • Registration council and number, only if held and current.
  • Short courses named exactly, without "expert" or "specialist" labels you cannot back up.
  • Real team photos, taken with each person's consent.

Which Google Business Profile category and review practices suit a physio clinic?

Pick the most specific category Google's editor offers for what you are, and ask every patient for an honest review in the same way, without any reward. Both decide how you appear when someone nearby searches for a physiotherapist.

Google's category guidelines ask you to choose categories that complete the sentence "this business IS a". Labels vary, so search the picker for "physio" and "physical therapy" and choose what fits; add secondary categories such as a sports medicine clinic only if they are true. A directory profile helps too, but it does not replace your own site; see our Practo profile vs clinic website comparison.

Google's contributed content policy removes reviews bought with discounts or free services, and forbids selectively asking only happy customers.

  • Ask at the end of a course of sessions, in the same words for every patient.
  • Never offer a free session or discount for a review.
  • Reply politely without confirming that the reviewer is a patient or mentioning their condition.
  • If you show reviews on the website, do not edit them or pick only recovery stories.

Frequently Asked Questions

What pages should a physiotherapy clinic website have?

A home page with timings and call and WhatsApp buttons, a first-assessment page, one page for each main condition such as back pain, knee rehab or stroke rehab, therapist profiles with real degrees, a home-visit page if you offer visits, contact details with a map and access information, and a privacy notice linked from every booking form.

Can a physiotherapy website say it cures back pain?

It should not. Explain how you assess back pain, what treatment usually involves and that progress varies from person to person. Words such as "cure", "permanent relief" or "pain-free in five sessions" promise outcomes no physiotherapist can be sure of, and can be treated as misleading advertising under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. This is general guidance, not legal advice.

Can physiotherapists use the Dr prefix on their website?

The question is unsettled. A DGHS letter of 9 September 2025 said physiotherapists should not use the prefix, but it was withdrawn the next day for further examination. Until the position is clear, the safest choice is the therapist's name followed by degrees such as BPT or MPT, with Physiotherapist as the role. Check with your council before publishing.

Should a physio clinic post patient recovery videos?

It is safer not to. Film exercise demonstrations with a therapist or a consenting staff member instead. If a patient must appear, take written consent for that specific use and remove the video if they withdraw it. Avoid before-and-after clips and recovery timelines, and add a safety note asking viewers to follow their own physiotherapist's advice.

How should a physio clinic set up Google Business Profile for home visits?

Keep the clinic address visible, because patients visit it, and add a service area covering only the sectors, colonies or towns your therapists really travel to. Choose the most specific physiotherapy category Google offers. On the website, publish one home-visit page that lists areas, visit days and what families should arrange before the session.
