Key takeaways
- A Google Business Profile is free, puts an eligible business on Google Maps and Search, and is the first step for almost every shop, clinic and service business in Charkhi Dadri.
- Google Ads cost money per click but let you choose the exact areas, hours and searches, which matters for movers, solar installers and repair teams covering Badhra, Baund Kalan and the villages.
- The two work together: once a profile is linked to Google Ads, location assets can show your address, a map, distance and a call button beside your ads.
- Mobile and laptop repair shops cannot advertise the repair service on Google Ads, so for them the profile, local SEO and a website do the work.
Should a Charkhi Dadri business start with Google Ads or a Business Profile?
Start with the free Google Business Profile if your business meets customers in person, because it costs nothing and shows you on Google Maps and Search. Add Google Ads when you need enquiries faster than the profile brings them, or when your customers are spread across villages and routes rather than the streets around your shop.
Charkhi Dadri is the headquarters of the district of the same name, formed in 2016 from part of Bhiwani district, and Wikipedia describes the town as the main marketplace for the villages around it. That shapes the choice. A cloth shop, chemist or clinic in the town is visited by people who already know roughly where it is, and a well-kept profile helps them find the exact lane, the opening hours and the phone number. A mover, solar installer or electrician, on the other hand, earns money by going out to customers in Badhra, Baund Kalan, Jhojhu Kalan and dozens of villages, and many of those customers never search for the town by name.
So the honest answer is not one or the other: the profile is the base layer, and ads are a paid layer on top, worth it for some trades from the start and for others only later.
What does a free Google Business Profile do for a Dadri business?
A Business Profile lets you manage how your business appears on Google Maps and Search at no charge: name, address or service area, hours, phone number, photos, posts and reviews. It is free, but it only works for businesses that deal with customers face to face, and you must verify it before you can edit it or reply to reviews.
Google’s Business Profile help page says only businesses that make face-to-face contact with customers are eligible. A shop or clinic with a counter qualifies. So does a business that travels to customers, such as a mover or a plumber, which Google calls a service-area business. A purely online seller with no in-person contact does not.
- Verification: Google chooses the method it offers you, which can be a phone call or text, email, a video recording, a live video call or a postcard. Google says reviews of a completed verification can take up to five business days, and mailed codes usually arrive within 14 days (verification help).
- Service areas: if customers do not come to your address, Google asks you to remove the address from the profile and list the areas you serve instead. You can add up to 20 service areas, set by city or postal code rather than a radius, and Google advises the whole area should not be more than about two hours of driving from your base (service areas help).
- Posts: updates, offers and events can be published on the profile and appear on Search and Maps, after Google checks them against its content policy.
- Reviews: once verified, you can reply to reviews publicly, and you can share a review link or QR code with customers to ask for reviews.
What the profile cannot do is decide who sees it. Google chooses when to show your listing on Maps and in local results, and you have no direct way to push it in front of a family in a village twenty minutes away who searched for “packers and movers near me”. You also cannot schedule it, add negative searches or set a spend. That is where ads differ.
The business name on your profile should be your real-world name. Google’s guidelines say not to add keywords, locations or taglines to it, so “Sharma Electricals” stays “Sharma Electricals”, not “Sharma Electricals Charkhi Dadri electrician AC repair”.
What do Google Ads add that a profile cannot?
Google Ads give you control: you choose the places, the hours, the searches and the daily budget, and your ad can appear as soon as the campaign is approved. You pay for clicks, so control comes at a cost that a profile does not have.
- Places: you can target named places or a radius around a point. Google’s location options page says a radius must be at least 1 km and warns that a small radius can make ads show only now and then or not at all. Badhra lies about 37 km west of the district headquarters, according to Wikipedia, so a campaign for both towns needs more than one small circle.
- Who counts as local: the “Presence or interest” setting also reaches people elsewhere who show interest in your target places, while “Presence” keeps ads to people in those places. A mover benefits from the first; a plumber usually wants the second.
- Hours: a call asset adds your phone number to the ad, and you can schedule it for the days and hours someone can answer (call assets).
- Searches you refuse: negative keywords keep your ad off searches such as jobs, courses or free downloads. Google notes they do not match close variants, so plurals and spellings have to be added one by one (negative keywords).
- Spend: you set an average daily budget. Google says that for most campaigns a single day can spend up to twice that average, but over a month you will not be charged more than about 30.4 times it (spending limits).
- Measurement: conversion tracking can count calls from ads, calls to the number on your website and form submissions, so you can see which campaign brought which enquiry.
One thing ads do not buy is a fixed position. Google ranks ads through Ad Rank, which weighs your bid, the quality of your ad and landing page, the competition and the context of each search. A clear page about the service you advertise matters as much as the bid.
Google Business Profile vs Google Ads: a side-by-side view
The profile wins on cost and on trust signals such as reviews and photos; ads win on control, speed and reach beyond the map. Most businesses in Dadri end up using both, with the profile in place first.
| Question | Google Business Profile | Google Ads |
|---|---|---|
| What does it cost? | Free to create and manage | You pay Google for clicks, plus any management fee; you set the average daily budget |
| Who can use it? | Businesses with face-to-face contact, at a counter or at the customer’s door | Most businesses, subject to Google’s advertising policies (hardware repair services are not allowed) |
| Where does it appear? | Google Maps and Search | Search, and with other campaign types Display and YouTube; location assets can also appear on Maps |
| Can you choose the area? | Service areas only describe where you work; Google decides when to show you | Yes: named places, radius, exclusions, Presence or Presence or interest |
| Can you choose the hours? | You list opening hours; the listing shows all the time | Yes: ad schedule and call asset hours |
| How fast does it start? | After verification, which can take several days | After Google reviews the ads; measurable through conversion tracking of calls and forms |
| What keeps it working? | Accurate details, photos, posts and genuine reviews | Budget, keyword and negative upkeep, landing pages and tracking |
| Can you block unwanted searches? | No; you can only keep the profile details accurate | Yes, with negative keywords, reviewed in the search terms report |
Which should each trade in Charkhi Dadri and Badhra start with?
Shops and clinics usually start with the profile and add ads later; packers and movers, solar installers and home-repair teams often need both from the start; mobile and laptop repair shops rely on the profile and local SEO because Google Ads does not allow the repair service itself.
- Shops in Dadri town and Badhra: profile first, with photos of the shopfront and stock, hours that match reality and a phone number someone answers. Ads come later, and mainly for products people search for by name, such as a type of appliance or furniture.
- Clinics: profile first, so patients can find the location, hours and phone number. If you later run ads, keep them factual: services, timings and location. Individual doctors should check the current National Medical Commission guidelines on publicity before advertising, and we check Google’s current healthcare ad policies before anything goes live.
- Packers and movers: both. The profile helps people who search for movers in Charkhi Dadri itself; ads catch route searches, such as a family moving from Dadri to Gurgaon or Delhi, and people in villages who never type the town’s name. Our Google Ads for packers and movers page explains the campaign layout.
- Solar installers: both, but with patience. Rooftop solar is a slow decision, so a profile with genuine reviews builds trust while ads bring research searches. Keep subsidy figures out of ads and point readers to the official PM Surya Ghar portal for current rules. Our guide to Google Ads for solar panel installers covers keywords and campaign splits.
- AC, appliance and RO repair, electricians and plumbers: the profile as a service-area business, then ads with call assets in working hours and a tight list of villages you can reach. Never word an ad or a profile as a brand’s authorised service centre unless you are one; Google’s misrepresentation policy covers this.
- Mobile and laptop repair shops: profile, local SEO and a website. Google’s third-party consumer technical support policy does not allow ads for hardware repair services, online or offline. Ads stay possible for selling devices and accessories.
If you are unsure where your trade falls, ask one question: do most of your customers walk in, or do you go to them? Walk-in businesses lean on the profile. Businesses that travel, and especially those that travel far, gain the most from ads. Our page on Google Ads management in Charkhi Dadri lists how we set up each of these trades.
How do a Business Profile and Google Ads work together?
They connect through location assets. When your Business Profile is linked to your Google Ads account, your ads can show your address, a map, the approximate distance to your business and a call button, so a paid ad carries the same trusted details as your map listing.
Google’s location assets page lists where they can appear: Google Search, Google Maps, the Search Partner Network, and in some cases the Display Network and YouTube video ads. On a phone, people can tap to get directions. That matters in a market town: someone in a village who sees your ad can tap straight through to the route to your shop or office.
- Get the profile verified first, with the correct name, hours, phone number and either an address or service areas.
- In Google Ads, open Assets in the Campaigns menu, select the plus button, then Location, and choose “Our locations” (linking steps).
- Pick the Business Profile you manage, or send a request to the email address of a profile someone else manages.
- Once linked, the locations become eligible to show as location assets with your ads; Google says locations show after they pass its integrity checks.
- Keep the profile and the ads saying the same thing: the same phone number, the same hours and the same services.
The link also works in the other direction. Reviews and photos on the profile give people a reason to trust an ad from a business they have not heard of, and the calls you track through ads show which services and villages are worth more attention on the profile. Note that Google allows only one type of location asset in an account, so a business should link its own profile rather than mixing sources.
A starting checklist for businesses in Charkhi Dadri, Badhra and Baund Kalan
Do the free work first, measure it, then decide on ads with real numbers from your own phone and WhatsApp rather than guesses.
- Create or claim your Business Profile and finish verification.
- Choose the fewest categories that describe your core business, as Google’s guidelines advise.
- Decide whether customers visit you. If not, remove the address and list up to 20 service areas, such as Charkhi Dadri, Badhra and the villages you reach.
- Add real photos of your shop, vehicles, team at work or completed jobs, and keep hours accurate, including holidays.
- Ask happy customers for reviews with your review link or QR code, and reply to every review politely.
- Make sure you have one clear page for each main service, with call and WhatsApp buttons; our local SEO guide explains the basics.
- Write down where your enquiries come from for a few weeks: the profile, word of mouth, WhatsApp forwards or repeat customers.
- If enquiries are too few, too slow or too close to town, start a small Search campaign with call assets, named locations or a radius, and a starter list of negative keywords.
- Link the profile to Google Ads so location assets can show, and turn on conversion tracking for calls and forms.
- Review the search terms and calls weekly, and move budget toward the trades and villages that bring paying work.
Which mistakes waste money or put the profile at risk?
The costly mistakes are policy mistakes on the profile and targeting mistakes in ads. Both are avoidable with a little care.
- Stuffing the business name: adding keywords or town names to the profile name goes against Google’s guidelines for representing your business.
- Two profiles for one business: Google says there should be only one profile per business and not more than one for each location.
- Buying or rewarding reviews: Google’s content policy bars reviews that are paid for or given in exchange for discounts, free goods or services, and bars asking only happy customers for reviews.
- Posing as a brand’s service centre: an independent repair shop that uses a brand’s name as if it were the brand’s own centre risks both its ads and its reputation.
- A radius that is too small or too big: a tight circle around Dadri town misses Badhra and the villages; a huge one pays for clicks from places your team never visits.
- Ads with no off-switch for calls: without scheduled call assets, calls arrive when no one can pick up, and those clicks are paid for anyway.
- Sending every ad to the home page: a solar searcher, a mover’s customer and an AC repair caller each need a page about their own service.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a Google Business Profile really free?
Yes. Google says a Business Profile lets you manage how your business appears on Maps and Search at no charge. You need to be eligible, which means meeting customers face to face at your premises or at theirs, and you must verify the profile before you can edit details or reply to reviews. Your costs are only your own time, photos and the effort of keeping details accurate.
Can a business without a shop in Charkhi Dadri have a Business Profile?
Yes, if it visits customers. Google calls this a service-area business, such as a mover, plumber or solar installer working from home or a yard. Remove the address from the profile if customers do not come there, and list up to 20 service areas, such as Charkhi Dadri, Badhra and nearby villages, within about two hours of driving from your base.
When does a Dadri business need Google Ads as well?
When the profile alone brings too few enquiries, when customers live in villages that rarely see your map listing, when people search for routes or urgent services, or when you need calls in a particular season. Ads let you choose the areas, hours and searches. They cost money per click, so start small, track every call, and grow only what brings paying work.
What happens when I link my Business Profile to Google Ads?
Once the link is approved, the locations on your profile become eligible to show as location assets with your ads, carrying an address, a map, the distance to your business or a call button where Google decides to show them. Keep both sides consistent: the same phone number, hours and services on the profile, the ads and your website, so customers never see conflicting details.
Can a mobile repair shop in Charkhi Dadri run Google Ads?
Not for the repair service. Google’s third-party consumer technical support policy does not allow ads for hardware repair services, online or offline. A mobile or laptop repair shop should rely on a verified Business Profile, genuine reviews, local SEO and a simple website instead. Ads remain possible for selling phones, laptops and accessories, within Google’s other policies.
