Yes. Steel bar is received with its heat number, and each forging batch records which heat it used. The heat number follows the batch through machining, heat treatment and inspection, so the dispatch record shows which heat every lot came from.
Can we issue job cards for each machining operation?
Yes. A work order is split into job cards for each operation in the routing, such as turning, milling, drilling and grinding. Operators or supervisors record the quantity made, rejected and sent for rework, and the next operation receives only the accepted parts.
We send parts outside for plating and heat treatment. Can the ERP track that?
Yes. Parts go out on a job-work challan with quantity and weight and come back against it. The ERP shows what is still with each processor, records rejections on return, and keeps the lot linked to its heat number and inspection records.
Can the ERP keep PPAP-style inspection records?
It can store the inspection data your customers ask for — incoming, first-piece, in-process and final results against each part and lot — and print it in your formats. The ERP holds the records; it does not certify your process or replace your quality system.
How does the ERP help with die and tool life?
Each die, mould or press tool is recorded with its shots or strokes, taken from the production entries. You set a limit for maintenance or replacement, and the ERP flags tools that are close to it, so tooling is planned alongside the production schedule.
Our OEM schedules change during the month. Can the ERP keep up?
Yes. Each revised schedule is entered against the customer and part number, and the production plan, material requirement and dispatch plan update from it. The pending quantity on every schedule line is visible to sales, production and stores at the same time.
