Key takeaways
- ICAI's Code of Ethics, 2026 lets CA firms run their own websites, but every page must stay factual and must not solicit work.
- Information on services reserved for CAs, such as statutory and tax audits, must stay in 'pull' mode; other services like accounting and consultancy may now use push.
- Testimonials, fee figures, banner ads, logos, catch words and 'best CA' claims are off the table, so the site must earn trust with clear, accurate information.
- For Bahadurgarh's factories and Jhajjar's traders, practice-area pages and plain-language GST and TDS explainers do the work that marketing copy cannot.

What should a CA website in Jhajjar actually do for your practice?
A CA website in Jhajjar should make your practice easy to verify and easy to contact for people who are already looking for a chartered accountant, without trying to persuade anyone. Under ICAI's rules it is an information site, not a sales page.
Jhajjar district is a mix of industry and small-town trade. The district administration lists four sub-divisions (Jhajjar, Bahadurgarh, Beri and Badli) and five tehsils, including Matanhail, with Salhawas as a sub-tehsil. Bahadurgarh, on Delhi's Tikri border, has large industrial areas: MIE-I, MIE-II and the HSIIDC estate in Sectors 16 and 17, plus a footwear park, along the Western Peripheral Expressway. The Delhi Metro Green Line has reached the town since June 2018.
So the people who search for a CA here are varied: owners of manufacturing units and their vendors, traders in Jhajjar town and Bahadurgarh's markets, salaried staff who commute to Delhi, and families with land or rental income. All of them first want a real name, a real address and a way to reach you.
- Verify: firm name, partners, membership and registration details, office address.
- Understand: the nature of services you provide, in plain words.
- Learn: explainers on GST, TDS and income-tax questions that clients ask every month.
- Contact: phone, email, office hours and a short enquiry form, with a map to the office.
What do ICAI's 2026 website guidelines allow a CA firm to show?
The current rules are in ICAI's Code of Ethics, 2026 (Volume I), applicable from 1 April 2026, in Chapter 3, paragraph 3.3, 'Website of the CA Firms/Network Firms/Alliance Firms'. They say firms are free to create their own website, ICAI does not prescribe a format, and the content listed below may be displayed. This summary is not legal or professional advice; read the text yourself or ask ICAI's Ethical Standards Board when in doubt.
| You may show | Where it comes from | Design note |
|---|---|---|
| Firm name, year of establishment, head office and branch addresses, phone and email | Para 3.3.7(i) to (iii) | Use the name and addresses exactly as in ICAI's records (para 3.3.21) |
| Peer Review status and Audit Quality Maturity Model (AQMM) level | Para 3.3.7(iv) and (v) | A plain line on the About page, no badge graphics |
| Nature of services rendered | Para 3.3.7(vi) | Exclusive CA services only on a specific 'pull' request |
| Partners: name, qualifications, contact details, area of experience | Para 3.3.7(viii) | One simple profile per partner |
| Employee details, job vacancies including articleship, number of articled assistants | Para 3.3.7(ix) to (xi) | A Careers page works well |
| Passport-style photographs; gallery of professional events the firm organised or where partners lectured | Para 3.3.9 | No other event or party photos on the website |
| Blogs, articles, professional updates, educational videos | Para 3.3.10 | Your main local SEO asset |
| Client chat and a document login for clients | Para 3.3.11 | Confidentiality must be protected (para 3.3.15) |
| Links to ICAI, its regional councils and branches, and government or regulator websites | Para 3.3.18 | Useful on explainer pages |
Client names and the nature of an assignment may be shown only with the client's permission, and for services exclusively reserved for CAs only the client's name may appear (para 3.3.7(xiii)).
What must a Jhajjar CA website never include?
Anything that advertises or solicits is out: no testimonials, no fee figures, no banner ads, no superlatives and no comparisons with other firms. These limits come from Clauses (6) and (7) of Part I of the First Schedule to the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 and from the Council Guidelines for Advertisement, 2008 (updated up to December 2025), whose definition of a 'write-up' expressly includes websites.
- No testimonials or endorsements, and no mention of fees charged (para 3.1.3(E)). Fees may appear only where a regulator requires disclosure, with a set italic note (para 3.3.7(xiii)).
- No exaggerated claims about services, qualifications or experience, and no disparaging or unsubstantiated comparisons (para 3.1.3(B) and (C)). Superlatives such as 'No. 1 CA firm' fail both.
- No awards or accreditations, except awards from the Central or State Government or regulatory bodies (para 3.1.3(F)).
- No monogram, logo or catch words (para 3.1.3(G)); the Council has prohibited firm logos on any media including the internet (para 2.14.1.7(xvii)). The CA India logo may be used under its own guidelines.
- No banner or other advertisement on the website (para 3.3.16), so no ad networks or sponsored widgets.
- No circulars or material that solicit people to visit the website (para 3.3.5). You may print the web address on your stationery and email.
Before launch, print every page and read it against paragraph 3.3 and paragraph 3.1.3. If a sentence sounds like an advertisement, rewrite it as a fact or remove it.
How do the pull and push rules shape the structure of the site?
Since 1 April 2026, a CA website may use both 'pull' and 'push' technology, but information on services exclusively reserved for chartered accountants must stay pull-only (para 3.3.3). Pull means the visitor goes looking for the information; push means you send it to them.
ICAI's guidance on tenders describes the exclusive area as audit and attestation, such as audits under the Companies Act and the income-tax law. That information must not be circulated by email or any other mode except on a specific pull request (para 3.3.4). Services that are not exclusive to CAs, such as accounting or consultancy, may now be pushed, for example through an opt-in newsletter.
| Page or feature | Mode | How to build it |
|---|---|---|
| Audit and assurance services page | Pull only | Reachable from the menu or site search; never emailed or promoted |
| Accounting, bookkeeping and payroll page | Pull, push allowed | Can feature in an opt-in update, still factual |
| GST and TDS explainers (blog) | Pull | Indexed pages that people reach by searching |
| Newsletter sign-up | Push (non-exclusive only) | Opt-in only, no audit content, easy unsubscribe |
| Client login and document area | Private | Login per client, no public content |
Keep the default conservative. Unsolicited letters or emails to people likely to need a CA are still treated as solicitation (para 2.14.1.6(iv)(K)), so never buy a mailing list for Bahadurgarh's industrial estates.
Which practice-area pages suit Bahadurgarh's manufacturers and Jhajjar's traders?
Write one factual page per service you really provide, saying what it covers, who it is usually for and what documents the client brings. That is what a factory owner in an industrial sector or a trader in Jhajjar town wants to know before calling.
- GST registration, returns and reconciliations: what a regular filer must track, with links to the GST portal.
- TDS compliance: deduction, deposit and quarterly statements, explained in plain language.
- Books of accounts and payroll for small units with contract and regular staff.
- Company and LLP compliance for private limited units and their directors.
- Income-tax returns for proprietors, partners, salaried people and landowners, linking to the income-tax e-filing portal.
- Audit and assurance, described briefly and kept in pull mode.
Avoid promising outcomes such as 'maximum refund' or 'zero notices'. Describe the work, not the result. Keep due dates on a dated explainer post updated from the official portals, not on service pages.
How can local SEO work within ICAI rules in Jhajjar and Bahadurgarh?
Local SEO for a CA is mostly about accuracy: the same name, address and phone everywhere, a correct Google Business Profile and genuinely useful pages that people find when they search. All of this is pull: you are not sending anything to anyone.
- Google Business Profile: follow Google's guidelines for representing your business. Use the firm's real name with no keywords, the office address registered with ICAI, real hours and the fewest accurate categories. Google allows separate practitioner profiles for public-facing professionals, but only where they are directly contactable at that office.
- Location page: one page per registered office (for example a Jhajjar head office and a Bahadurgarh branch) with an embedded Google Map, directions and hours. Do not create pages for towns where you have no office pretending to be local.
- Areas served: a factual line such as 'clients in Jhajjar, Bahadurgarh, Beri and Badli' is information, not a claim.
- Reviews: testimonials are barred on the website, so do not embed review widgets or ask clients for ratings. Reply to reviews on Google factually and without client details.
- Content: publish explainers that answer local questions in English, with Hindi summaries where your clients prefer them.
Our Google Business Profile guide covers profile set-up step by step, and our local SEO services in Jhajjar page explains the technical side: fast pages, clean headings and correct structured data for your office address.
What technical features does a CA firm website need?
Speed, security and confidentiality matter more than visual effects, because the site will carry client data and must be readable on a phone. The guidelines require adequate secrecy of client matters handled through the website (para 3.3.15).
- HTTPS everywhere and a secure client login for document sharing, with separate access per client.
- Short enquiry form asking only for name, phone and the type of query. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the DPDP Rules, 2025, tell people why you collect the data and how to reach you about it.
- Online advice only on request: the rules allow online advice to clients who specifically ask for it, free or paid (para 3.3.13).
- Deadline tracking behind the scenes: a simple CRM can log enquiries and filing reminders for your team, without any public-facing marketing.
- A web address close to the firm name, as para 3.3.20 requires, not a keyword domain.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a chartered accountant in Jhajjar have a website?
Yes. ICAI's Code of Ethics, 2026 states that chartered accountants and CA firms are free to create their own website, and it does not prescribe a format. The content must follow paragraph 3.3 of Chapter 3: factual particulars, no solicitation, no advertisements and no testimonials. Check the current text on icai.org before launch; this is not legal advice.
Can a CA firm website show testimonials or client reviews?
No. The advertisement guidelines in the Code of Ethics say a write-up, which includes a website, should not contain testimonials or endorsements concerning members. That is why a compliant CA website should not embed Google review widgets or quote clients. Replying to reviews on your Google profile should be factual and must never reveal client information.
Can I list my fees or packages on my CA website?
Generally no. Paragraph 3.3.7 of the website guidelines says fees charged cannot be given. The only exception is where a regulator requires disclosure, and then only to the extent required, with a set italic note naming the regulator. A page describing what each service covers and what documents to bring is the compliant alternative.
What is the pull and push rule for CA websites?
Pull means a visitor seeks out information; push means you send it. Since 1 April 2026, CA websites may use both, but information on services exclusively reserved for chartered accountants, such as audit and attestation, must remain pull-only and must not be circulated by email. Non-exclusive services like accounting or consultancy may use push.
How do Bahadurgarh businesses find a CA website without ads?
Through search and maps. An accurate Google Business Profile with your registered office, a location page with a map, and useful explainers on GST, TDS and returns help people searching in Bahadurgarh and Jhajjar find you. ICAI also encourages members to list on its own CA Connect portal. None of this requires sending unsolicited messages.
