Key takeaways
- Under the Code of Ethics, 2026, a CA firm may name clients on its website only with their permission, and only the name for audit work; fees still cannot be shown.
- Services reserved for CAs, such as statutory and tax audits, stay pull-only; accounting and consultancy may now use push, but conservatively.
- Factory clients in IMT Bawal and Dharuhera want factual pages on GST, TDS, company compliance and audit, written for finance teams.
- Local SEO should reflect only real offices: an accurate profile in Rewari and factual 'areas served' lines for Bawal and Dharuhera.

What should a CA firm website in Rewari cover?
A Rewari CA website has to speak to two audiences at once: finance teams at manufacturing units in Bawal and Dharuhera, and traders, professionals and families in Rewari town. Both want the same basics, verified partners and a real office, but they look for different services.
Rewari, the district headquarters, is known for traditional metalwork, particularly brass, a trade that goes back centuries. Nearby, Industrial Model Township (IMT) Bawal was developed by HSIIDC in 1995 as a state project to bring in auto-parts manufacturers. Dharuhera, about 19 km from Rewari on NH-48, is a big industrial hub with an industrial estate developed by the state.
In practice, that means your enquiries can come from a plant accountant who needs help with GST reconciliations, a component vendor setting up a private limited company, a contractor confused about TDS, or a brass trader in town who wants his returns filed. The site should give each of them a clear page and the same simple way to contact the office. See our website development in Rewari page for the local web basics.
What do ICAI's current website rules say, and what changed in 2026?
The rules now sit in ICAI's Code of Ethics, 2026 (13th edition, Volume I), applicable from 1 April 2026, in Chapter 3, paragraph 3.3. As the ICAI President's message of January 2026 explains, the revision included long-awaited changes to the advertisement guidelines. This post is a summary, not legal or professional advice.
| Topic | Rule in the 2026 Code | What it means for your site |
|---|---|---|
| Pull and push | Websites may use pull and push; services exclusively reserved for CAs only on pull (para 3.3.3) | Audit information stays on the site; no emailing it out |
| Network and alliance firms | Networks registered with ICAI may have their own website and show their registration number and model (paras 3.3.1, 3.3.6) | A network site must list only member firms (para 3.3.8) |
| Client names | Allowed with the client's permission; for exclusive services only the name (para 3.3.7(xiii)) | Get written consent; no assignment details for audits |
| Fees | Fees charged cannot be given, except where a regulator requires it (para 3.3.7(xiii)) | No price lists or packages |
| Quality status | Peer Review status and AQMM level may be shown (para 3.3.7(iv), (v)) | One factual line on the About page |
| Advertising | No banner or other advertisement on the website (para 3.3.16) | No ad networks or promo pop-ups |
The broader limits still apply: the site must not solicit work (para 3.3.14), must contain no testimonials, exaggerated claims or comparisons (para 3.1.3), and must not be promoted through circulars asking people to visit it (para 3.3.5).
Can a Rewari CA firm show clients from Bawal and Dharuhera?
Yes, but only with each client's permission, and for audit and other exclusive services only the client's name may appear, never the assignment. Fees for any assignment cannot be shown.
Many firms will still choose not to list clients. Manufacturers often prefer confidentiality, and a client list needs upkeep when engagements end. If you do include one, treat it as a compliance record, not a marketing block:
- Written consent from each client, kept on file with the date.
- Names only for audit and attestation clients; a short factual description of the assignment is possible only for non-exclusive work such as accounting or consultancy.
- No client logos; the Code allows the name of the client, nothing more decorative.
- No results or figures, such as tax saved or refunds won, which would turn the list into an endorsement.
- Prompt removal when a client leaves or withdraws permission.
Do not put client names in page titles or meta descriptions to catch searches for those companies. That uses a permission meant for information as a marketing tool.
Which service pages fit factory clients in IMT Bawal and Dharuhera?
Write service pages for the questions a plant's finance team brings: GST, TDS, company compliance, payroll-related compliance, internal controls and audit. Each page should say what the work involves and what records you need, in factual language.
| Service page | What to explain | Mode |
|---|---|---|
| GST compliance for manufacturers | Returns, input tax credit reconciliation, e-way bill questions, notices | Pull; push allowed for consultancy updates |
| TDS on contractor and vendor payments | Deduction, deposit, quarterly statements, corrections | Pull |
| Company and LLP compliance | Annual filings, board records, director requirements | Pull |
| Accounting and payroll support | Books, month-end closing, statutory deductions | Pull; push allowed |
| Internal audit and process reviews | Scope, reporting, how findings are tracked | Pull |
| Statutory and tax audits | What the audit covers and what the client prepares | Pull only |
Link to official sources such as the GST portal and the income-tax e-filing portal, which the guidelines allow (para 3.3.18). For Rewari town clients, add pages on returns for traders, rental income and capital gains on property, in English with Hindi summaries.
How should a Rewari firm handle enquiries, proposals and fees?
Let the website collect enquiries, and handle everything that looks like selling, such as profiles, proposals and fees, privately and only when the prospective client asks. The Code says a firm profile may be shared with a prospective client only in response to that client's specific query (para 2.14.1.6(iv)(I)).
- A short form asks for name, company, phone and the type of work. Keep it minimal and explain how you use the data, in line with the DPDP Rules, 2025.
- Enquiries land in a simple CRM or shared inbox, so a partner replies within the working day.
- If the enquirer asks, you send the firm profile and discuss fees directly, never on the website.
- Do not follow up with marketing emails. Unsolicited letters or emails to people likely to need a CA are treated as solicitation (para 2.14.1.6(iv)(K)).
- For tenders from companies or public bodies, follow ICAI's tender guidelines, which restrict responses for exclusive services.
How can local SEO reach Rewari, Bawal and Dharuhera within the rules?
Show your real offices accurately and write genuinely useful content; do not invent branches or stuff keywords. ICAI expects the site to match its records (para 3.3.21), and Google's rules point the same way.
- One profile per real office. Follow Google's guidelines: the firm's real name with no keywords, a real address and accurate hours. If you have a registered branch in Bawal or Dharuhera, it can have its own location page and profile; if not, do not create one.
- Areas served, stated as fact: 'we work with businesses in Rewari, Bawal, Dharuhera and Kosli' is information. 'Top CA for Bawal factories' is a claim.
- Location page with a map and directions from the Rewari bus stand or railway station.
- Explainers that answer industrial-area questions, dated and linked to official sources.
- No review requests and no review widgets on the site, because testimonials are barred.
Our Google Business Profile optimisation guide walks through categories, hours and photos. For a CA office, keep photos to the office, signage and passport-style partner photos.
What should the partner and team pages show?
Show each partner's name, qualifications, other qualifications, area of experience and contact details, which is exactly the table paragraph 3.3.7(viii) describes. Add a passport-style photograph (para 3.3.9).
You may also list employees with designation and area of experience, the number of articled assistants and current vacancies, including articleship. Present or past elected positions in ICAI's Central Council, Regional Councils or branches may be mentioned (para 3.3.19). Leave out adjectives such as 'renowned' or 'expert', since the advertisement guidelines bar exaggerated claims about experience. Frequently Asked Questions
Can a CA firm in Rewari list its clients on the website?
Under the Code of Ethics, 2026, a firm may show the name of a client and the nature of the assignment only with the client's permission. For services exclusively reserved for chartered accountants, such as audits, only the client's name may appear. Fees cannot be shown. Many firms still prefer to leave client names out.
Can a CA website show its Peer Review status?
Yes. Paragraph 3.3.7 of ICAI's website guidelines allows a firm to display its Peer Review status and its Audit Quality Maturity Model level as reviewed by a peer reviewer or AQMM reviewer. Present it as a plain factual line on the About page, without badges, superlatives or comparison with other firms.
Can a CA firm send newsletters to businesses in Bawal and Dharuhera?
Since 1 April 2026 a CA website may use push technology for services not exclusively reserved for CAs, such as accounting or consultancy. Audit information must stay pull-only. Unsolicited letters or emails to people likely to need a CA are still treated as solicitation, so send updates only to people who have opted in.
Should a Rewari CA firm create pages for Bawal and Dharuhera?
Create a location page only where you have a real office registered with ICAI. Otherwise, state the areas you serve as a plain fact on your Rewari office page. ICAI expects website information to match its records, and Google's guidelines require profiles to use real addresses, so invented branch pages create risk on both sides.
Can my CA website mention fees for GST or ITR filing?
No. The website guidelines say fees charged cannot be given, with a narrow exception where a regulator requires disclosure. Describe what each service covers and which documents to bring instead. If a prospective client asks about fees, discuss them directly in reply to that enquiry, not on the website.
