The National Capital Region is far larger than Delhi itself. The NCR Planning Board lists its constituent areas as the whole of NCT Delhi (about 1,483 sq km), fourteen districts of Haryana including Gurugram and Faridabad, eight districts of Uttar Pradesh including Ghaziabad and Gautam Budh Nagar, and the Rajasthan districts of Alwar and Bharatpur, adding up to roughly 55,083 sq km. Noida and Greater Noida sit in Gautam Buddh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, Ghaziabad is a city of the same state close to the Delhi border, Gurugram lies about 30 km south-west of New Delhi in Haryana, and Faridabad is described as the most populous city in Haryana.
That map explains why tracking matters here. A Delhi campus can enrol children who live in Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram or Faridabad, and a school in one of those cities can draw families from across the border, so a single morning run may pass from one state into another and back. The longer the run, the less a printed timetable tells a parent waiting at the twelfth stop. When a bus is held up at one point, every stop after it shifts, and a live position plus an alert shortly before arrival is more useful than a fixed time on a notice board.
Boards also expect location records. In February 2017 the Deccan Chronicle reported revised CBSE guidelines for school buses that ask for GPS and CCTV in each vehicle, kept in working condition, along with speed governors limited to 40 km/h, a transport manager and a trained lady attendant. SchoolTrack covers the live location and trip history part of that picture; it is not a CCTV camera or a speed governor, and the school's board and state transport department decide what each vehicle must carry. Yes. SchoolTrack follows the driver's phone, not a device tied to one state, so the bus stays on the parents' map from the first stop to the school gate wherever the route runs in the NCR. If the signal drops on part of the route, the driver app keeps recording and uploads the missing stretch when the network comes back.
Do parents need to download an app?
No. Parents receive a link on WhatsApp that opens the live map on an Android phone, an iPhone or a desktop browser. It can be added to the home screen and used like an app, but nothing has to be installed from an app store.
Can alerts go out in Hindi as well as English?

Yes. Because the tracker is the driver's phone, the same app works in a large bus, a mini-bus or a van that runs a school route. Each vehicle gets its own route, stops and student list on the dashboard.
How quickly can a school go live?
Most schools go live within 24 hours. A driver needs about five minutes to install the app, and our team adds your routes, stops and students to the dashboard for you.
What does a driver need?
An Android phone or iPhone with location turned on and mobile data. The app has one button to start and stop duty, scans student QR or RFID cards, and has a one-tap SOS. Tracking runs only during duty hours, so the driver's personal location is not followed after school trips.
How is children's data handled under India's data protection law?
Student names, stops, phone numbers and boarding records are personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, which treats anyone under 18 as a child and adds extra safeguards for children's data. The school decides why the data is collected and who may see it; SchoolTrack supports that with separate logins for parents, drivers and staff, and the bus is tracked only while the driver is on duty.
