Key takeaways
- Treat Sonipat city with Murthal, the Kundli side, and Gohana as separate service areas, sized by how long a technician takes to get there rather than by distance on a map.
- Give each area you budget separately its own campaign and call-asset schedule, so a busy city campaign cannot use up the money meant for Gohana.
- Keep one ad group per appliance and job, and add town-name keywords only to the campaign that serves that town.
- Never present an independent shop as a brand’s service centre, keep phone and laptop repair out of your ads, and check the current Google Ads policies before launch.
How should a repair business in Sonipat set up Google Ads?
Set up one Search campaign for each service area your team can really reach — Sonipat city with Murthal, the Kundli side, and Gohana if you go there — with an ad group for each appliance, a call asset that shows only when someone answers, honest wording that never suggests a brand’s service centre, and tracking that records which area and appliance each job came from.
Sonipat is not one compact market. Wikipedia places Kundli about 9 km south-east of the city centre, near the Singhu Border, and Gohana around 40 km from Sonipat, with Kharkhoda and Ganaur at roughly 19 km and 23 km. A technician based in the city can reach Murthal quickly, but a call from Gohana can take a large part of the working day. So the Sonipat setup is mostly about where and when your ads run.
For keyword lists, negative keywords and a full landing page checklist, read our complete setup guide for AC repair ads. This post covers what changes for a business working across Sonipat district.
- Write down where each technician starts the day and how long they take to reach each town on a normal weekday.
- Group towns into service areas by travel time, not by straight-line distance.
- Create one campaign for each area you want to budget separately, using named locations or a radius, and exclude places you do not cover.
- Choose the location option; for most repair work that is Presence.
- Build ad groups by appliance and job inside each campaign.
- Add call assets scheduled for each area’s staffed hours, and a WhatsApp button at the top of every landing page.
- Turn on call reporting, set a minimum call length and log the town and appliance for every booked visit.
Which service areas make sense across Sonipat, Kundli and Gohana?
Most Sonipat repair teams can work with three or four zones: the city with Murthal, the Kundli side towards the Delhi border, Ganaur and Kharkhoda as separate towns, and Gohana on its own. Which ones you include depends on where your technicians live and travel, not on the district boundary.
According to Wikipedia’s Sonipat district article, the district has three subdivisions, Sonipat, Ganaur and Gohana, and four tehsils, with Kharkhoda as the fourth. The table uses only what Wikipedia says about where each place lies.
| Zone | Where it lies (Wikipedia) | How to treat it in Google Ads |
|---|---|---|
| Sonipat city and Murthal | Murthal is about 6 km north of Sonipat, on the Delhi–Amritsar highway | The core campaign for a city-based team: Sonipat as a named location or a radius around your base |
| Kundli side | About 9.2 km south-east of Sonipat city centre and about 1.6 km north of the Singhu Border | Its own campaign or ad group if a technician lives on that side; exclude Delhi areas you do not serve |
| Rai | A village and development block in Sonepat tehsil, with an industrial estate | Usually part of the city or Kundli zone; check how Google lists it before naming it as a location |
| Kharkhoda | About 19 km from Sonipat; the town is a tehsil headquarters | A separate area only if someone covers it on most days |
| Ganaur | About 23 km from Sonipat city | Its own campaign if you visit regularly; leave it out if you go only now and then |
| Gohana | About 40 km from Sonipat, linked by NH 352-A and the Jind–Sonipat railway line | A campaign of its own, with its own budget, call schedule and landing page section |
A simple rule: if you would hesitate to send a technician to a town on a busy afternoon, that town should not sit in the same campaign as your home area. Give it its own campaign with a smaller budget, or leave it out until you can serve it properly. For a team based in Gohana the logic runs the other way round: Gohana is home, and Sonipat city becomes the extra campaign.
Radius or named towns: how wide should the target be?
Use a radius when one team works outward from one base, and named towns when you cover specific places but not the land between them. Either way, size the area by travel time, check it on the map and keep it large enough for ads to show.
Google’s location options page says radius targeting needs a radius of at least 1 km around a location, and its location targeting page warns that selecting a small location could mean ads show only intermittently or not at all. It also suggests checking the map to make sure you are targeting the right area.
A circle treats every direction as equal, and travel does not. From a base in Sonipat city, a circle wide enough to take in Kharkhoda is likely to reach east across the Yamuna as well, which Wikipedia says runs along the city’s eastern boundary and forms the district’s border with Uttar Pradesh. If you do not go there, exclude it. Named towns avoid that, though they can leave gaps around villages you do visit.
- Presence: shows ads to people physically in your chosen locations. This suits most repair work, because the customer is usually standing next to the broken appliance.
- Presence or interest: also reaches people who have shown interest in your locations, such as someone in Delhi looking for a technician for a parent’s home in Gohana. Google’s help page recommends this broader setting for Search; for repair, test it only if such bookings matter to you, and read the search terms closely.
If your ads stop showing after you narrow the area, our guide on why a campaign gets no impressions walks through the checks, starting with location and schedule settings.
When should the call button show for a Sonipat repair team?
Only when someone will pick up. Search ads can run for longer hours, but the call asset should follow the day of the person who answers, and an outlying zone like Gohana can have its own schedule for the days a technician is there.
Google’s call assets page says a clickable call button appears under a responsive search ad on devices that can make calls, while desktop users see a “Call us” button that shows the number and a QR code. Under the asset’s advanced options you can schedule it for certain days and hours, and Google verifies that the phone number represents the business being promoted. Campaigns themselves show ads all day by default, according to the ad scheduling page, which also lets you raise or lower bids for chosen days and times.
Older accounts may still have call-only ads. Google’s call ads page says the options to create new call ads were removed in February 2026, and existing call ads stop receiving impressions in February 2027. Move the number to call assets on responsive search ads.
| Situation | Search ads | Call asset | Where clicks should go |
|---|---|---|---|
| Staffed weekday hours, city zone | On | On | Call, WhatsApp or book a slot |
| Gohana or Ganaur on days no technician goes there | On, if you take advance bookings | Off for that campaign | A booking page that states the next visit day for that town |
| After the office closes | Optional; test with your own data | Off | WhatsApp, with the callback time stated |
| Team fully booked on a hot day | Pause the busiest ad groups or zones | Off where you cannot reach | A page that offers the next free slot |
Which ad groups should each appliance get?
One ad group per appliance and job — AC repair, AC service and gas filling, AC installation, washing machine, fridge, RO purifier and geyser — so the search, the ad and the page all name the same thing. Add town names to keywords only in the campaign that serves that town.
| Ad group | Example keywords | Town variant (in that town’s campaign) | What the page should say |
|---|---|---|---|
| AC repair | ac repair near me, ac not cooling repair | ac repair sonipat, ac repair kundli | Faults you fix and how soon a visit can be arranged in that zone |
| AC service and gas filling | ac service at home, ac gas filling, ac gas leakage | ac service gohana | What a service includes, and a leak check before any refill |
| AC installation and shifting | split ac installation, ac uninstallation, ac shifting | ac installation murthal | Stand, pipe and wall work, and moving an AC when a family shifts house |
| Washing machine repair | washing machine repair near me, washing machine not spinning | washing machine repair sonipat | Front-load and top-load work done at home, and when a machine goes to the workshop |
| Fridge repair | fridge repair near me, fridge not cooling | fridge repair ganaur | Single-door and double-door work and how visit charges work |
| RO purifier service | ro service near me, ro filter change | ro service kharkhoda | Filter and membrane changes and what a service visit covers |
| Geyser repair | geyser repair near me, geyser not heating | geyser repair gohana | Electric geyser repairs and the safety checks done on each visit |
Put each town-name keyword in the campaign for that town, so the ad can say “Fridge Repair in Ganaur” and the call reaches the technician who covers Ganaur.
Keep brand names out of keywords and ads unless you are authorised by that brand; the next section explains why. Our guide to Google Ads for appliance repair businesses goes deeper into washing machine, fridge and RO ad groups and their negative keywords.
What do Google’s policies mean for repair ads in Sonipat?
Two rules matter most. Google does not allow ads for third-party technical support of consumer technology, and it lists hardware repair services as an example, so phone and laptop repair cannot be advertised. And no independent shop may present itself as a brand’s service centre. The tech support policy does not name ACs or appliances, so check the current policies before launch.
Google’s third-party consumer technical support policy says technical support for consumer technology products and online services offered by third-party providers is not allowed. Its examples include online and offline troubleshooting such as data recovery, hardware repair services and software installations. It still allows ads for the sale of consumer technology and for technical support provided exclusively to businesses. If your Sonipat shop also fixes phones or laptops, keep that work out of the ad account and read what mobile and laptop repair shops can advertise.
Google’s misrepresentation policy bars making it seem you are supported by another brand, organisation or government entity when you are not. Google calls such violations egregious, and the account is suspended upon detection and without prior warning. The same policy covers failing to clearly disclose the full expense a user will bear and promising offers in the ad that are not available on the page.
| Avoid in ads and pages | Use instead |
|---|---|
| “[Brand] Service Centre Sonipat” | “AC Repair in Sonipat — Independent Service” |
| “Authorised service”, unless a brand has authorised you | “Split and Window AC Service at Home” |
| “Free service” when a visit charge applies | “Visit Charge Explained Before You Book” |
| “Tech support”, “software installation”, “data recovery” | Plain job words: “AC Gas Filling”, “RO Filter Change” |
| “Same-day visit” when Gohana gets visits twice a week | “Same-Day Visits in Sonipat City; Gohana on Set Days” |
We check the current Google Ads policies before any campaign goes live, because policy pages change and the tech support page does not say whether ACs or appliances count.
How should budgets follow Sonipat’s seasons?
AC searches tend to rise as it gets hot and ease as it cools, so budgets should move with the weather and with how many visits your team can make, instead of staying flat all year. Use the dates in your own call log rather than a fixed calendar.
The climate table in Wikipedia’s Sonipat article shows May with the highest mean daily maximum, at 40 °C, and July and August with the heaviest rainfall. What follows is general logic, not a forecast: AC service and installation ahead of the heat, AC repair and gas filling at the peak, and more room for washing machine, geyser and fridge groups when the weather cools.
- Before the heat: raise AC service and installation in the city zone first, where your team can take the most visits.
- Peak heat: give AC repair the largest share, and pause outlying zones on days the technicians are fully booked.
- Cooler months: lower AC budgets and give geyser, washing machine and fridge groups a larger share.
Remember how budgets behave. Google’s budget page says a campaign might spend up to twice its average daily budget on a given day, and that over a month it will spend no more than 30.4 times that average. On a very hot day the city campaign may spend well above its daily figure. A separate Gohana campaign keeps its own share.
How do you know which town and appliance bring booked jobs?
Count calls from ads with call reporting, set a minimum call length, track WhatsApp taps and forms separately, and write down the town and appliance for every booked visit, so you compare zones by jobs, not by clicks.
- Calls from ads: Google’s measure calls from ads page asks for a call asset, or a location asset with a verified phone number, and call reporting turned on. New calls are then counted under the default “Calls from ads” conversion action.
- Minimum call length: calls count as conversions when they last longer than a minimum duration you set, so wrong numbers and hang-ups drop out.
- The India caveat: India is in the country list for Google forwarding numbers, but Google notes that on some calls the caller ID shows a Google number rather than the customer’s, so match calls to bookings by time as well as number.
- WhatsApp and forms: count WhatsApp button taps and form submissions as separate conversions.
- A booked-job log: date, town, appliance and ad group for every visit, compared month by month across the city, Kundli and Gohana campaigns.

Frequently Asked Questions
Should one Google Ads campaign cover all of Sonipat district for a repair business?
Usually not. One campaign shares one budget and one call schedule, so a busy city area can use up money meant for Gohana or Ganaur. Give each area you serve on different days, or with different technicians, its own campaign. A small team that covers only Sonipat city and Murthal can run a single campaign with a radius around its base and exclusions for places it never visits.
Is Gohana worth targeting for a repair team based in Sonipat city?
Only if you can serve it well. Wikipedia puts Gohana about 40 km from Sonipat, so a visit takes a large part of the day. If you go there on set days, run a separate Gohana campaign with its own budget and a call schedule for those days, and say on the page when visits happen. Your booked-job log will show whether the travel pays.
Can a repair shop in Sonipat advertise mobile and laptop repair on Google?
No. Google’s third-party consumer technical support policy does not allow ads for technical support of consumer technology, and its examples include hardware repair services and software installations. A shop can still advertise the sale of devices and accessories, or support given only to businesses. For the repair counter itself, a Google Business Profile, local SEO and a clear website are the main ways to be found.
Can our ads say we are a service centre for an AC brand?
Only if that brand has actually authorised you. Google’s misrepresentation policy bars making it seem you are supported by a brand you are not part of, treats such violations as egregious and suspends accounts on detection, without prior warning. An independent shop should describe the service and the area, such as “Split AC Repair in Sonipat”, and say plainly that it is independent.
Which location setting suits a repair business on the Kundli side?
Presence is usually the sensible start, because it shows ads to people physically in your chosen area and most repair customers are standing beside the broken appliance. Kundli lies close to the Delhi border, so exclude Delhi areas you do not serve. Presence or interest, which Google recommends for Search, can be tested later if bookings from relatives elsewhere matter to you.
