Key takeaways
- A first campaign in Jhajjar should be one Search campaign for one main service, not every campaign type at once.
- Location targeting decides who sees the ad: movers usually want “Presence or interest”, while repair trades and shops usually want “Presence”.
- Call assets, scheduled for the hours someone answers, turn most local searches into calls; new call-only ads can no longer be created.
- A complete Google Business Profile feeds location assets and keeps working after the ads stop, so set it up alongside the campaign.
Where should a small business in Jhajjar start with Google Ads?
The short answer: pick the one service that brings you the most useful work, run a single Search campaign for it, aim it at Jhajjar and the nearby places you actually serve, and make sure every call and enquiry is counted. Everything else can wait until that first campaign shows what a lead costs you.
Most owners in Jhajjar, Beri and Badli who try Google Ads for the first time do the opposite. They switch on whatever Google suggests, leave the whole of India or the whole of Haryana as the target, and send clicks to a home page with no phone number at the top. The money goes quickly and the phone stays quiet. A small, tight start avoids that, and Google’s own walkthrough in our step-by-step guide to creating a campaign follows the same order.
- Choose one service. Household shifting, rooftop solar, AC repair, a clinic’s OPD — one at a time.
- Draw the area. Jhajjar town plus the villages and towns you visit, nothing more.
- Set the hours. Ads and the call button run only when someone can pick up the phone.
- Prepare the landing page. One page for that service, with the towns you cover, a call button and WhatsApp.
- Complete your Google Business Profile. Correct name, category, address or service area, hours and photos.
- Switch on tracking. Calls from ads and form or WhatsApp enquiries counted as conversions.
- Review every week. Search terms, calls, enquiries and cost per lead.
If you already run ads and do not know where the money goes, start with an audit of the existing account before building anything new.
Which Jhajjar businesses suit Google Ads, and which cannot use it?
Google Ads suits businesses whose customers search when they need something soon: movers, repair trades, solar installers, clinics, coaching centres and shops with stock people look for by name. It does not suit every business, and one common local trade cannot advertise its main service at all.
The table below shows how a first campaign usually looks for each trade in and around Jhajjar. The searches are examples of the kind of words people type, not data.
| Business | Typical search | First campaign | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Packers and movers | packers and movers in Jhajjar, shifting to Gurgaon | Search, ad groups for local, Delhi NCR and long-distance moves | Job seekers and truck drivers looking for work |
| Solar installer | rooftop solar installation Jhajjar | Search for house owners, with a site-survey request | Tenants, solar jobs, DIY kits; never look like the government scheme |
| AC, appliance and RO repair | AC repair near me, RO service Beri | Search with call assets, tight service area | Posing as a brand’s service centre |
| Electrician or plumber | electrician in Jhajjar | Search, call assets in working hours | Searches from places you cannot reach the same day |
| Clinic | skin clinic Jhajjar, physiotherapy near me | Search with factual ads on services and timings | Outcome claims; doctors check NMC guidelines |
| Coaching centre | coaching classes in Jhajjar | Search during admission months, enquiry form | Promising marks or selections |
| Shop | hardware shop Jhajjar, school uniform shop | Search with location assets from your Business Profile | Advertising items not in stock |
| Mobile or laptop repair | phone screen repair Jhajjar | Not allowed for the repair work | Use Business Profile, local SEO and a website instead |
The last row matters. Google’s third-party consumer technical support policy does not allow ads for tech support of consumer devices, and it names hardware repair services among its examples. A phone or laptop repair shop in Jhajjar should put its effort into a Business Profile, local SEO and a simple website; our post on Google Ads for mobile and laptop repair shops explains what such a shop can still advertise. For AC, appliance and RO repair the policy names no appliances, so we check the current policies before any campaign goes live.
Two more rules shape local ads. Google’s misrepresentation policy bars making a business look supported by a brand or a government body it is not part of, which matters for an independent appliance repairer and for a solar installer who mentions PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. Solar ads should send readers to the official PM Surya Ghar portal for current rules and keep subsidy figures and savings promises out. Individual doctors should read the current National Medical Commission guidelines on advertising before a clinic campaign starts.
How small can a first budget be, and what decides the cost?
There is no fixed minimum that works for everyone, and no one can promise a result for a given amount. A sensible first budget is one you can keep running steadily for a full month, because a campaign that stops and starts every few days never gathers enough calls to show what works.
In Google Ads you set an average daily budget. On a busy day Google may spend more than that average to catch extra searches, but across the month it will not charge more than your daily average multiplied by the average number of days in a month. So think in months, not days, and leave the budget alone long enough to learn from it.
What pushes the cost of each click up or down:
- Competition. How many other businesses bid on the same searches in the same area. Moving and solar searches attract advertisers from bigger cities too.
- Area. Targeting Jhajjar and four nearby towns spends less than targeting the whole state, and reaches people you can actually serve.
- Hours. An ad schedule keeps ads off at night and on days you are closed, so you do not pay for calls nobody answers.
- Quality. A clear ad that matches the search and lands on a matching page tends to do better in the auction than a vague one.
- Season. AC repair searches rise when it gets hot and admission searches rise before a session starts, so spend can move with the season.
Keep two amounts apart in your accounts: the ad spend you pay directly to Google, and any fee you pay someone to manage the campaign. Knowing what one booked job or one new patient is worth to you is more useful than any budget figure from someone else’s business.
How do you target Jhajjar, Beri and Badli without wasting clicks?
Target only the places you serve, either by naming them or by drawing a radius, and choose the presence setting that fits your trade. That one decision stops more waste than any keyword trick.
Jhajjar’s customers come from a wide spread of towns and villages. Wikipedia places the town about 55 km west of Delhi on the Rewari–Rohtak road. Beri, northwest of Jhajjar, is a municipal committee and trading centre known for its Navratra fairs. Badli is about 15 km away and connected by the KMP Expressway. Matanhail lies 22 km west and is the seat of its own tehsil and block, with a grain mandi. Machhrauli, about 15 km away, has a station on the Rewari–Rohtak line, and Dujana is a village in Beri tehsil. Bahadurgarh, on the Delhi border, behaves more like a city of its own and is usually worth a separate campaign.
Google’s location options give you two tools and one setting:
- Named locations. Places picked from Google’s list; depending on the country these can be regions, cities or postal codes. Where a village is not offered by name, a radius or its postal code covers it.
- Radius. A circle around an address, with a minimum of 1 km. Google warns that a very small radius can leave ads showing only now and then, or not at all, so do not draw it too tight.
- Exclusions. Places you never serve can be excluded so they never see the ad.
- Presence or interest. Reaches people in your areas and people who have shown interest in them. Google recommends it for Search, and it suits movers, because a family in Delhi planning a move to Jhajjar searches from Delhi.
- Presence. Keeps ads to people who are actually in your areas. It suits a plumber, an AC technician or a shop, where a search from far away is not a customer.
A packers and movers business can usually run one campaign covering Jhajjar, Beri, Badli and Matanhail with broad presence, while a repair business may split the area by how far its technicians can travel in a day. Our guide to keywords and campaign setup for packers and movers goes further for movers.
Why do call assets matter more than clicks for a local business?
Because most people looking for a mover, a repairman or a clinic in Jhajjar would rather call than fill in a form. Call assets add your number to the ad, and on a phone that can make calls a call button appears under it.
Three settings make call assets work for a small business:
- Schedule them. Google lets you show the number only when your business can take calls, so the button disappears when the shop is shut.
- Turn on call reporting. Calls can then be counted as conversions, so you see which ad and which keyword made the phone ring.
- Answer every call. A missed call from a paid click is the most expensive kind. If nobody can answer at lunchtime, pause the call asset at lunchtime.
If you remember an older format called call-only ads, it is on its way out. Google’s notice on call ads says the option to create new call-only ads was removed in February 2026 and existing ones stop receiving impressions in February 2027. Google recommends responsive search ads with call assets instead, which is how we set up every new campaign.
Put the same number on the ad, the landing page and your Google Business Profile, and make sure it is the number that is answered during working hours.
Which keywords and negative keywords should a first campaign use?
Use searches that name your service, ideally with a place or “near me”, and block searches from people who will never buy. A short, clean list beats a long one on a small budget.
Good first keywords combine the service with the area: packers and movers in Jhajjar, house shifting Jhajjar to Gurgaon, rooftop solar Beri, AC repair near me, electrician in Badli, coaching classes in Jhajjar. Group them by service so each ad group has its own ad and its own page.
Then add negative keywords for searches you do not want to pay for. Common ones for local trades are job, vacancy, salary, driver job, training, course, how to, DIY, free and second hand. Google notes that negatives do not match close variants, so singular, plural and synonym forms have to be added one by one; casing and misspellings are handled automatically.
After the campaign starts, open the search terms report every week. It shows what people actually typed before clicking, and it is where most wasted spend is found and blocked.
Why should your Google Business Profile be ready before the ads?
Because the ads and the Business Profile work together. Location assets take your details from Google Business Profile and Google Maps, and can show your address, a map or the approximate travel distance beside the ad.
A Business Profile is free to run and keeps bringing calls when the ad budget runs out. Before the first campaign, check that the profile has your real business name, the most specific category, your address or service area, the correct hours, the same phone number as the ads and recent photos. Our local SEO guide covers the profile in more detail, and our SEO services in Jhajjar page explains how we handle it for local businesses.
For businesses that visit customers, such as movers, solar installers and repair trades, the profile can hide the address and show a service area instead. Shops and clinics that receive walk-in customers show the address, and the travel distance in the location asset becomes a reason to call.
What should you track, and when should you change things?
Track the actions that bring work — calls, enquiry forms and WhatsApp clicks — and change one thing at a time, weekly, based on those numbers rather than on clicks alone.
Google’s conversion tracking can count website actions such as form submissions, calls from ads, calls to the number on your website and taps on that number on a phone. Set these up before launch, or the first month of spend teaches you nothing.
- Week one: check that ads are showing in the right towns and that test calls and test forms are being counted.
- Every week: read the search terms report, add negatives and note which ad groups bring calls.
- After the first month: compare cost per lead across services and towns, then move budget toward what brings real jobs.
- Every season: adjust budget and hours for your trade’s busy and slow months.
- Only then: consider remarketing, Display or YouTube once Search is working and tracked.
If ads stop appearing at all, the reason is usually a setting, a policy issue, a budget limit or a very small target area. Our guide to a campaign that is active but not getting impressions walks through the checks.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Google Ads worth it for a small shop in Jhajjar?
It can be, if people search for what you sell and you can answer the calls. A shop with stock people look for by name, a clear Business Profile and a matching landing page has a fair chance. A shop whose customers only come by word of mouth may get more from a complete Google Business Profile first. No one can promise results, so start small and judge by calls and visits.
Can my Google Ads cover Beri and Badli as well as Jhajjar?
Yes. A campaign can target several named places, a radius around each, or both, and you can exclude areas you never serve. Movers usually choose the “Presence or interest” setting so people planning a move into the area also see the ad, while repair trades and shops usually choose “Presence”, which keeps ads to people who are actually in those towns.
Do I need a website to run Google Ads?
You need a page that answers the search. A single landing page for your main service, listing the towns you cover, how to book and a call and WhatsApp button, is enough to start. A home page with no phone number at the top usually wastes clicks. Your Google Business Profile should be ready too, because location assets take your address from it.
Can I still create call-only ads?
No. Google removed the option to create new call-only ads in February 2026, and existing call-only ads stop receiving impressions in February 2027. Google recommends responsive search ads with call assets instead. Schedule the call asset for the hours someone answers the phone, and turn on call reporting so calls from ads are counted as conversions.
Can a mobile or laptop repair shop in Jhajjar advertise on Google?
Not for the repair work. Google’s policy on third-party consumer technical support does not allow these ads and names hardware repair services among its examples. A repair shop can still build a Google Business Profile, do local SEO and run a simple website, and it may advertise things the policy allows, such as selling phones and accessories or IT support offered only to businesses.
