Kanwah
The lane outside, in colour at night.
Kanwah is one of the villages in the Kasni cluster of Jhajjar district. Wikipedia's article on neighbouring Niwada lists Kanwah among its nearby villages, together with Dhakla, Kasni, Redhuwas and Kohndrawali, in the area around the Bhindawas Bird Sanctuary. Wikipedia's district article lists rice, wheat and maize as the major crops of Jhajjar, and in a farming village the gali between the houses carries tractors, cattle, bikes and people from early morning until well after dark.
That lane is what people most often want recorded. Who parked outside, who walked past the gate at midnight, which bike went down the gali before something went missing. An ordinary camera handles the daytime well, but much of what matters happens after dark, and that is where standard night vision falls short. Infrared night vision lights the scene with near-infrared light that the eye cannot see, and as Wikipedia's article on night vision notes, the result appears as a monochrome image. A grey picture shows that someone passed, but often not the colour of a shirt, a helmet or a car.
Colour night-vision cameras take a different route. A more light-sensitive sensor and a wide lens aperture gather the light already in the street, from a bulb over the gate or a street lamp, and many models add a soft white light for the darkest spots. The footage stays in colour, so a red bike is red and a white car is white. For a gali in Kanwah that means placing the camera high on your own wall, looking along the lane rather than across into a neighbour's house, and making use of the light that is already there.

- Vehicles parked outside, with their colour clear
- The corner where your lane meets the main village road
- Your own boundary wall, without looking into a neighbour's courtyard

- Smart light and alertsSome models switch on a white light and send an alert when a person or vehicle stops at the gate, and ignore passing dogs.
- Two-way talk at the gateSpeak to someone at the gate through the camera, or fit a video door phone with a screen inside the house.
- Night check from your bedOpen the app at night and see the lane in colour without stepping outside.
- Recorder kept indoorsStreet cameras record to a DVR or NVR placed safely inside, so the footage stays even if a camera outside is damaged.

FAQs
CCTV Camera Installation in Kanwah — FAQs.
Straight answers to what Kanwah families and shopkeepers ask before they start.
Who installs CCTV cameras in Kanwah, Jhajjar?
DVM Techno does, from its branch office in Kasni, one of Kanwah's neighbouring villages. We fit colour night-vision cameras for gates and lanes, HD cameras with a DVR, IP cameras with an NVR, and WiFi and PTZ cameras, and set up live viewing on your phone. A free site survey and a written quote come first. Call or WhatsApp +91-8448523313, Monday to Saturday, 9 AM to 7 PM.
What is a colour night-vision CCTV camera?
It is a camera built to keep recording in colour when the light is low, instead of switching to a black-and-white infrared picture. It uses a light-sensitive sensor and a wide-aperture lens to make the most of a gate bulb, a street lamp or moonlight, and many models add a small white light for very dark spots. The result is night footage in which you can tell the colour of clothes, bikes and cars.
Is a colour night camera or an infrared camera right for a street?
For a lane where you want to identify people and vehicles, colour usually helps more, because the footage is far easier to use. Infrared still has its place where there is no light at all and you do not want a visible light, such as a back wall facing open fields. Many homes use colour cameras at the front and infrared ones at the back.
Will the camera's light disturb my neighbours?
It should not if it is set up with care. The white light on a colour camera is soft and can be set to come on only when motion is detected, or kept off if the street light is enough. Angling the camera along your own frontage also keeps the light out of neighbours' windows.
Can I point a CCTV camera at the lane outside my house?
Covering your own gate, wall and the stretch of lane directly in front of it is common. Avoid pointing cameras into a neighbour's courtyard, windows or roof, and keep the footage for your own security. We angle every street-facing camera with this in mind, which also avoids disputes in the village.
How far down the gali can a night camera see?
It depends on the lens and the light. A wide lens shows more of the gate but less detail further away; a narrower lens reaches further along the lane but covers less width. In a dark lane the range of the camera's own light also matters. At the survey we look at the length of your lane and suggest the lens that suits it.
Can I see the lane on my phone at night?
Yes. Once the recorder is connected to the internet at the house and linked to the camera app, you can open live view at any hour and play back the night's recording in the morning. If the house has no internet yet, ask about our WiFi broadband service in Kanwah.
Which cameras and brands can I get for my home in Kanwah?
Colour night-vision cameras for the gate and lane, HD dome and bullet cameras on a DVR, IP cameras on an NVR, WiFi cameras for rooms where a cable is hard to run, cloud cameras whose footage you view and store online through the maker's app, PTZ cameras for a big plot and a video door phone for the entrance. We install Hikvision, Dahua, CP Plus, Uniview, Prama, Honeywell and Bosch.
